Project Overview
The Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT) Online Syllabus is a paid subscription that provides dance teachers and studio owners with resources required to prepare students for yearly examinations.
Tools
2014
Until this time, the ADAPT Syllabus was only available in Books and DVDs. This was the first opportunity for teachers to access this information online.
2017
ADAPT underwent a rebrand which led to the Online Syllabus updating its colours palette and typography. The user interface was overhauled to better align with the syllabus structure. Also introduced a Student Study Guide for students to review Syllabus content.
2023
The Online Syllabus was replaced with a responsive website to better serve teacher’s on all screen sizes. New features were added to better serve the audience’s needs.
Problem
Until this time, the ADAPT Syllabus was only available in Books and DVDs. This was the first opportunity for teachers to access this information online.
Goal
Provide users with an online resources to better help them plan for dance classes, prepare for exams and to better educate themselves on the annual required work for a successful exam.
Role
Gathered user feedback, met with stakeholders, created user personas, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. Led development and deployed final product.

Courtney is a dance teacher whose studio participates in yearly ADAPT exams. She focuses primarily on teaching the intermediate levels of both Jazz and Tap. Her classes include teaching students the syllabus material, preparing suitable music and ensuring her students feel confident entering the exams.
